Work and Keep the Land

Today we begin our fall worship series, Love Where You Live. We begin by remembering that God values what He creates. God gives all humans a creation mandate: to work and keep the land around them. Jesus has redeemed us not to escape this mandate but to fulfill it right where we live.

As we consider what it means to love our neighbors, a pesky but important question invariably presents itself: What if I don’t like my neighbors? While the idea of loving our neighbors is nice, the reality of loving our neighbors can be problematic for many of us. God’s Word gives insight into how we can become more loving.

Become Zealous to Do Good

God calls His people to pursue the welfare of the people and place right around them, even when they are exiled and treated poorly. As those who have been made God’s people through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we offer the world a compelling vision for what it looks like today to live by grace.
